Brazed plate heat exchangers for industrial cooling
Hydraulic oils, cutting emulsions, process circuits and steam.
Davhex supplies brazed plate heat exchangers for the thermal control of industrial machines and processes, with geometries selected on the actual fluid, not just the nominal load. Design and production entirely in Italy, with the production capacity to respond right away.
→ Applications in this area
Industrial heat, under control.
Three applications where the brazed plate heat exchanger stabilizes oils, emulsions and steam.

Oil Cooling
Oil-water exchangers for hydraulic units, compressors, gearboxes and lubrication circuits, with geometries that limit pressure drop on viscous fluids.

Emulsion Cooling
Exchangers for cutting emulsions and fluids in machine tools and machining centers, where thermal stability sets dimensional accuracy.

Steam
Exchangers that transfer steam energy to water circuits or process fluids, sized for condensation and thermal-stress management.
→ Production capacity and interchangeability
Reliable lead times, flexible quantities, samples on request.
When a machine is down, the missing component costs more than it is worth. Our production is now entirely in Italy, with available production capacity and short lead times, for both series production and samples, so you can validate quickly.
Producing and shipping now
Available production capacity to take on new orders with no waiting list.
Reliable delivery dates
A date committed in the quotation that you can plan your production around.
Small and large orders
A dedicated small-batch line works alongside series production.
Solutions built on your design
Custom variants on specification when the layout requires it.
Samples on request
Test it on your unit before moving to production.
→ Same footprint
Change supplier, not your machine.
Several Davhex series are designed with footprints and connections matched to the most common formats on the market: same space, same connections, no changes to piping or brackets on the machine already installed.
Series C
Footprints aligned with market standards, with Low or High geometry on the same platform. 1″ connections.
Series F
1¼″ connections, for mid-size power packs and process circuits.

→ The role of the BPHE
Five thermal problems, one component.
In industry, temperature is not a comfort target but a process parameter: it determines a pump’s efficiency, the precision of a machined part, the repeatability of a cycle. Each application, however, has a different criticality, and a component that is right for one can be entirely wrong for another.
| Application | Function | Dominant criticality |
|---|---|---|
| Oil cooling | Hydraulic and lubrication oil | High viscosity and laminar flow: the choice of geometry and surface strongly affects pressure drop and heat transfer |
| Emulsion cooling | Cutting fluids | System-level regulation precision (±1 K) and suspended particulate |
| Process cooling | Machine / tower separation | Untreated tower water: fouling and accessibility for washing |
| Steam | Water and fluid heating | Condensation, cyclic thermal stress, condensate drainage |
| Heat recovery | Reuse of process heat | Low LMTD: you need exchange efficiency, not excess surface |
→ Range coverage
From the power pack to the process plant.
From a hydraulic power pack of a few kW to the process plant: whatever the fluid and the operating point, the range has a configuration to cover it.
| Parameter | Davhex range | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Power to dissipate | 3 – 500 kW | From the power pack to the process plant |
| Process fluids | Oil, emulsion, process water, steam | Determines geometry and selection criteria |
| Typical viscosity of the applications | 1 – over 100 cSt | Above 30 cSt the flow tends to be laminar: selection must be verified on the operating point |
| Operating temperature | −196°C / +200°C | Up to medium-pressure steam |
| Number of plates | Up to 300 | Depending on the model |
| Connections | 20 mm – 2½” | From compact format to high flow rates |
→ The Davhex solution
The geometry follows the fluid.
In industrial cooling one rule outweighs all others: geometry is chosen on the fluid, not only on the power. With very viscous fluids, an angle that improves heat transfer on water can raise pressure drop without a proportional gain.

High Heat Transfer
High chevron angle. More turbulence, higher heat transfer coefficient. The right choice for water-based fluids with a small temperature difference and for process heat recovery.

Low Pressure Drop
Low chevron angle and more open channels. The right direction for oils: it limits back pressure on the return line and is compensated with surface area.

Mixed Geometry
Asymmetric channels and mixed plates. Wider on the oil side, where the constraint is Δp, narrower on the water side, where turbulence is needed: neither circuit is penalized.

→ The Polidoro advantage
Close to the machines we cool.
Davhex produces inside one of Italy’s main mechanical districts, in an industrial group with eighty years of history. That puts us close to the real conditions of industrial plants: intermittent cycles, untreated tower water, maintenance scheduled around production and not the other way round.
