Vacuum brazing of plate heat exchangers
One block. No gaskets.
AISI 316L or AISI 304 corrugated stainless steel plates, Cu 99.9% copper sheets and vacuum furnace brazing.
The technology
How a brazed heat exchanger is made
A plate heat exchanger transfers heat between two fluids while keeping them separate. The transfer takes place through a stack of thin corrugated metal plates, whose geometry creates the channels the fluids flow through.
In Davhex heat exchangers the plates are paired with thin copper sheets and then brazed in a special vacuum furnace. The process produces a hermetically sealed body without gaskets, ensuring heat transfer efficiency and pressure resistance.

Process
From material to heat exchanger
1
Stamping
Plates are made on automatic press lines.
2
Plate pack assembly
Corrugated plates are assembled according to the configuration the heat exchanger requires.
3
Vacuum brazing
The pack is brazed in a vacuum furnace, using copper as the joining material.
4
Rapid cooling
The furnaces are equipped with a rapid cooling system.
5
Testing
At the end of the process the heat exchangers undergo the scheduled testing operations.
Performance
Chevron geometries, pressure and temperature
Plate geometry lets you tune the behaviour of the heat exchanger to the application.
Davhex offers L, M, H and asymmetric AM/AH configurations, developed to achieve different balances between heat transfer, turbulence, flow rate and pressure drop.
