→ Plate geometry

Chevron angles, tuned to your duty.

Model F is available with M, H plates. M: mixed geometry, a balance between heat transfer and pressure drop. H: high chevron angle, more turbulence and the highest heat transfer coefficient, for tight approach temperatures (<3 K).

The trade-off is a higher pressure drop than low-angle plates, which is why every heat exchanger is configured on your operating point.

→ FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Quick answers on Model F, from construction and connections to sizing and sampling.

What is a brazed plate heat exchanger?

A compact heat exchanger made of corrugated stainless steel plates (AISI 316L / 304) brazed together with copper (Cu 99.9%) in a vacuum furnace. The result is a single hermetically sealed block, with no gaskets.

How many plates does Model F have, and how do I choose?

Model F is available from 10 to 200 plates. The right number depends on the power, temperatures and allowable pressure drop of your application: send us your operating data and our technical team will size the heat exchanger.

What is the difference between the series?

DM is for water-water duties (district heating, substations); DBE is the evaporator version and DBC the condenser version; DS is the steam-water version. The number indicates the pressure class: 1 = 16 bar, 2 = 31 bar, 3 = 45 bar at 135 °C / 49 bar at 110 °C.

What is Model F used for?

District heating substations, chiller and ground-source heat pump evaporators, condensers, economizers and suction gas heat exchangers, and steam duties.

What are the operating limits?

Operating temperature from −196 to +200 °C. Maximum pressure from 16 bar (DM1) to 45 bar at 135 °C / 49 bar at 110 °C (DBE3 and DBC3), depending on the series.

Can I request a sample?

Yes. Polidoro runs a dedicated line for samples and small batches, so prototypes can be supplied without waiting for series production. Use the contact form below.

Which connection types and accessories are available?

Connections are threaded as standard; soldered, inner threaded, welded and Victaulic® versions are also available. On request we supply brackets, stud bolts, adapters and polyurethane insulation shells.

How do I size the heat exchanger?

Use the Davhex selection software, available on davhex.com after licence activation: it gives the optimal sizing for your project. For dedicated versions or custom distributors, our technical team can run specific tests.
