Why we brought production to Italy, and what it means for the manufacturers who choose us.

Some decisions a company makes looking at next quarter’s balance sheet. Others are made looking at the next twenty years. Moving Davhex heat exchanger production to Schio belongs to the second kind.
For over eighty years Polidoro has designed and produced thermal components for the leading heating manufacturers. We got to know boilers and heat pumps from the inside: we know how a generator works, how a burner modulates, what happens when a component operates away from its design point. With Davhex we chose to bring this experience to the other side of the system: heat transfer.
Why Schio
In recent years manufacturers have learned a costly lesson: an excellent datasheet is worth nothing if the component does not arrive on time. Delays, production reorganisations and supply chains that are too long have stopped assembly lines across Europe.
Bringing the production of our brazed plate heat exchangers to our Schio plant answers this problem in concrete terms:
- European supply chain, with no dependence on non-EU sourcing.
- Available production capacity, designed to welcome new OEM projects.
- Direct control of the process, from plate stamping to vacuum brazing, up to leak testing of every piece.
- R&D and production under the same roof, so prototype and series follow the same path, with shorter qualification times.
More than a component
A heat exchanger is not chosen on kilowatts alone. It is sized around the system it will work in. That is why the Davhex range covers capacities from 3 to 500 kW, with series dedicated to liquid-liquid exchange, evaporation and condensation, and plate geometries configurable to the real operating point.
For those evaluating an alternative to their usual suppliers, we have developed models with dimensions and connections designed to fit existing platforms, minimising design changes. And for our distributors we offer double branding, a flexibility that the sector’s large players rarely grant.
The application fields are those our Group works in every day: heat pumps, chillers, boilers, domestic hot water and district heating. Alongside these, we look closely at liquid cooling for data centres and industrial cooling, sectors where heat transfer efficiency has become a decisive factor.
The new plant and upcoming appointments
In the coming months we will officially inaugurate the new production plant in Schio. It will be an opportunity to open our doors to customers and partners and show first-hand how a Davhex heat exchanger is born.
