Model A is a brazed plate heat exchanger made of corrugated stainless steel plates, vacuum-brazed with copper into a single sealed block. It is the most compact model of the Davhex range, from domestic hot water to 4U data center CDUs.

→ Plate geometry
High chevron angle, high heat transfer.
Model A is built with H-type plates. The high chevron angle creates more turbulence and a higher heat transfer coefficient: the right choice when the required approach is tight (<3 K).
The trade-off is a higher pressure drop than low-angle plates, which is why every heat exchanger is configured on your operating point.

What is a brazed plate heat exchanger?
A compact heat exchanger made of corrugated stainless steel plates (AISI 316L / 304) brazed together with copper (Cu 99.9%) in a vacuum furnace. The result is a single hermetically sealed block, with no gaskets.
How many plates does Model A have, and how do I choose?
Model A is available from 6 to 60 plates. The right number depends on the power, temperatures and allowable pressure drop of your application: send us your operating data and our technical team will size the heat exchanger.
What is the difference between DM, DBE and DBC series?
DM is for water-water duties (domestic hot water, data centers); DBE is the evaporator version and DBC the condenser version (also used as desuperheater). DS is the steam-water version. The number indicates the pressure class: 1 = 16 bar, 2 = 31 bar, 3 = 45 bar at 135 °C / 49 bar at 110 °C.
Is Model A suitable for data center cooling?
Yes. Its compact size fits 4U rack-mounted CDU formats. For other CDU sizes, contact our technical team.
What are the operating limits?
Operating temperature from −196 to +200 °C. Maximum pressure from 16 bar (DM1) to 45 bar at 135 °C / 49 bar at 110 °C (DBE3 and DBC3), depending on the series.

Which connection types and accessories are available?
Connections are threaded as standard; soldered, inner threaded, welded and Victaulic® versions are also available. On request we supply brackets, stud bolts, adapters and polyurethane insulation shells.
